Fleetdown
United football club has, after a lot of hard work, achieved our aim
of becoming a FA Charter Standard Club. This is a great achievement,
after several years of effort from many members of the committee.
We can not announce this award without recognising the hard work
that has been put in by so many people.
Eric Thomas, who took on the challenge of bringing our
Charter Pack together, after so many had been unable to do so in the
past.
Brian Wakeman & Ron Mabey, who worked with Eric to put
the pack together,
Caroline Brennan, our Child Welfare Officer, who chased us
all down to ensure we had all the relevant Child Protection papers
in place.
Over the years a number of people have tried to pull together all of
the information and ensure that we had everything in place to apply
for this status, but unfortunately we never quite seemed to get
there, so we were very lucky when Eric stepped into the breach to
take on this challenge.
This award should open a lot of doors for the clubs in terms
of help and, hopefully, funding. As you can see from the home page
of our website we already have the Charter Standard Club badge on
there. You will also see a certificate and plaque being put up in
the club house very shortly.
Once again, a massive thank you to everyone involved in getting our
FA Charter Status signed off.
